About evaporative cooling pads
Cooling pads cool the air as it is pulled through wet media. How much cooling you get depends on the outdoor humidity, the airflow and the water supply. Pad area, water circulation and filtration are sized together with the fans, and the pads are protected or closed during cold months.
Common configurations
Pad media and frames
Different media and frames.
Circulation and filtration
Pump, distribution and filter.
Selection checklist
Before we send a layout or quotation, we confirm these points with you.
| Point to confirm | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Climate humidity | Decides how much cooling is possible. |
| Airflow and resistance | Matched to fan pressure. |
| Pad size | Area for the air speed. |
| Water quality and circulation | Scale and algae control. |
| Maintenance and cleaning | Access and flushing. |
| Cold season protection | Covers or closing doors. |
Dimensions, materials and quantities are confirmed for each project.
Scope of supply
| Usually in the package | Agreed in each contract |
|---|---|
| Fans, air inlets, cooling pads and heaters | Air-tightness of the building |
| Climate controller and sensors | Heat source and power supply |
| Air filtration units where ordered | Standby power and alarm call-out |
