About farrowing crates
Most piglet losses in the first days happen when the sow lies down on a piglet. A well-set crate slows that movement, while a warm creep area draws piglets away from her. Floor choice decides how dry the pen stays and how fast it can be washed between batches. We design each farrowing room as a whole: crate width, floors under sow and piglets, where the heat sits and how the feed and water lines run.
Common configurations
Crate and gate types
Different sow restraint styles and gate openings for loading, checking and cleaning.
Floor combinations
Plastic slats for piglets and a stronger floor under the sow.
Local heating
Heat boxes, mats or lamps where piglets rest.

|---|---|
| Sow and piglet space | Sets crate width, pen length and creep area. |
| Crate adjustment | Gilts and older sows need different settings. |
| Floor load | Decides slat material and beam spacing. |
| Feed and water position | Lines up with doser, trough and drinker. |
| Local heat source | Electric, hot water or lamps. |
| Cleaning and service access | Gates and removable parts for washing. |
Dimensions, materials and quantities are confirmed for each project.
