About cast iron slatted floors
Cast iron slats carry heavy loads and give a durable surface where sows stand and lie, for example under the sow in a farrowing crate. Material, surface finish, edge treatment and support all need to be checked so the floor is kind to feet and joins cleanly to the plastic floor beside it.
Common configurations
Slot patterns and modules
Different slot widths and panel sizes.
Combined floors
Cast iron under the sow, plastic around it.
