About water storage, pumps & backup supply
Pigs cannot go without water, so the farm needs storage, level control and pumps sized to daily and peak use, and a backup when the source or power fails. The plan depends on the site, the water source and how much reserve you want to hold.
Common configurations
Tanks or reservoirs
Storage on site.
Booster pump sets
Pressure for long or high lines.
Backup and bypass
Second source or standby pump.
